Travel Through a Screen

A collection of photos taken on the bus to the home of a loved one. I love the way photos taken of screens seem warped, the colour, saturation, brightness and complete mood of photos taken of screens interests me. I like how there's a modern surreal quality to them. They're vibrant, and simulate being within a game or fictional media.

The overlapping of lights, curved black edges of the screen and subtle reflections on the dark edges replicate a collage - I love the variety of ways light is captured in these images.

These photos were taken before I knew who Melinda Gibson was, yet they remind me of her collages. MY new knowledge of her work has inspired me to view these photos in a different light and gain more appreciation for them. They were taken because I thought it would just be cool to have photos of myself through a bus security camera screen, but they ended up having a more artistic meaning too.
